What’s new?

Cadmould Flex is by far the most transformative release to date – not just incremental improvements, but a step-change in capabilities and positioning. It has approximately 35% more total changes than previous versions, 4× more major new features than V18.0, and it’s the first release to combine deep technical improvements with enterprise capabilities and UX innovations. The latest Cadmould release delivers a powerful upgrade to both capability and user experience. From secure user-based accounts and realistic surface graining to high-performance remote simulations and a redesigned cockpit interface, this version focuses on smarter workflows and faster results. Enhanced solver performance, intuitive UI refinements, and expanded automation options ensure that simulation, analysis, and collaboration are more efficient than ever - helping you move from idea to insight with unprecedented speed and clarity.

New Features

This release introduces user-based accounts with secure login via One-Time Password (OTP) and email. The previous simcon.enc licensing system has been fully removed.
A major highlight is the new Authentic Surface Graining feature, which allows users to visualize shrinkage, warpage, sink marks, and similar defects directly on textured meshes. This provides a realistic “as-produced” surface appearance, enabling clearer communication with non-technical stakeholders. Multiple surface textures can be easily compared side by side.
The new OnPrem-HPC functionality allows simulations to be run remotely on a company’s own server infrastructure. Live-View Mode enables users to attach or detach from running simulations. In detached mode, interim results can be reviewed as if the simulation had already completed, allowing evaluation in parallel with computation. A Job Management Dashboard provides a web-based overview of queued and running jobs, as well as live server load monitoring.

User Experience & UI

Several improvements have been made to enhance usability and workflow efficiency. Loading bars are now displayed for time-consuming steps such as meshing and project loading. All major dialogs — including the CAD Importer, Mesh Repair, Mesh Explorer and VARIMOS Virtual — now feature a full-screen mode.
The previous Project Overview has been replaced by the new Cockpit, which allows users to manage multiple projects in a single table view. Columns are fully configurable and saved per user, including the VARIMOS mother/child project hierarchy. Projects can be opened via double-click, and safe duplication prevents accidental overwrites.

Fiber visualization has been reworked to display orientation lines and degrees in a single view, compatible with any color scale. Mesh Repair now includes mesh quality information for better control during preparation.
Minor changes, such as gate location adjustments, no longer reset process, material, or wall-temperature configurations, eliminating unnecessary reconfiguration steps. The outdated Mold dialog has been removed entirely.
The workspace has also been visually improved with anti-aliasing enabled and a reorganized information cluster in the top-left corner. Screenshot handling is easier — a single Save Image button replaces multiple options, and pressing Ctrl+C now copies the current workspace view directly to the clipboard.

Simulation & Solver

The solver has been significantly optimized for both performance and functionality. A new 3D-V fiber calculation supports reinforced materials and enables direct comparison with CT-scan data, including animation of fiber reorientation.

Results can now be overlaid on 3D runner segments (for example, to visualize pressure loss). Parallelization improvements have sped up filling, packing, and T-Box simulations, achieving up to 30% faster filling and 2x faster T-Box performance.
The 3D-V solver now supports inlays with realistic thermal interactions. Residual stress results have been simplified from twelve tabs to just two categories—Von Mises and Hydrostatic stresses—for more intuitive interpretation.

CAD Import

A new naming option has been added to the CAD Importer. Users can now choose whether imported parts are named according to their CAD part name or their parent layer name. This is particularly useful for assemblies with complex structures.

Performance & Stability

GPU utilization has been optimized so that Cadmould now takes full advantage of common graphics cards when handling large models. Users are advised to ensure that Cadmould is configured to use their GPU in system settings.
Additionally, the Hoops Exchange component has been updated to the 2025 version, improving import reliability and overall software stability.
