About Us
SIMCON solves injection molding challenges with Dual Engine simulation - combining 35 years of proven physics with AI that delivers results in seconds - so engineers can focus on what they do best: creation.
Precision simulation for the real world
SIMCON is a German simulation software company specializing in injection molding, founded in 1988. For over 35 years, SIMCON has combined deep domain expertise with a commitment to making simulation accurate, accessible, and actionable
Our story
SIMCON started where great engineering ideas often do: at a university. Spun out of RWTH Aachen, one of Europe's leading technical universities, we built our first simulation tools on the science of polymer physics - and that scientific foundation has never changed.
What has changed is scale and speed. Over three decades, SIMCON's validated material database has grown to more than 5,600 materials. SIMCON's customer base spans thousands of engineers across every continent. And in 2026, SIMCON launched the first Large Engineering Model for injection molding: a neural AI solver that predicts simulation results in seconds rather than hours. The transformation of engineering is happening now. SIMCON is building it.

The SIMCON Story: A Timeline of Innovation
-
2020 - Today
The AI Era Begins
In March 2026, SIMCON launched the Cadmould AI Solver - the first Large Engineering Model for injection molding. Built with Emmi AI and trained on decades of numerical simulation data generated by our own physics-based solver, it delivers predictions in seconds rather than hours. Alongside the AI Solver, Cadmould Flex brought flexible, subscription-based simulation to engineers - no power workstation or lengthy installation required.
-
2015 - 2019
Making Simulation Accessible
Simulation had always belonged to specialists. SIMCON set out to change that. During this period, we began the transition toward cloud-enabled, accessible tools - reducing hardware requirements, shortening onboarding times, and expanding Cadmould's reach beyond CAE departments into broader engineering teams.
-
2005 - 2014
A Platform, Not Just a Tool
Cadmould matured from a simulation application into a comprehensive engineering platform. We introduced Varimos, an automated design of experiments and optimization tool, giving engineers a systematic way to explore process parameters without manual iteration. The customer base grew to span automotive Tier 1s, consumer goods manufacturers, and medical device makers.
-
1995 - 2004
Building the Science
These were the years that built SIMCON's lasting depth. Every customer engagement deepened the material database. Every real-world challenge sharpened the solver. The physics-based simulation engine that engineers rely on today was refined during this decade through thousands of production challenges - each one adding to a body of validated knowledge that takes years to accumulate.
-
1988 - 1994
From the Lab to the Factory Floor
SIMCON was founded in 1988 following pioneering research at RWTH Aachen University in Aachen, Germany. From the start, the mission was clear: bring simulation science out of the research lab and into the hands of practicing engineers. The first version of Cadmould gave plastics engineers a way to predict injection molding behavior before cutting steel - turning what had been academic theory into a daily engineering tool.
